Nancy Sheinberg
Of Counsel
Nancy has been practicing law for over 20 years, with a focus on Corporate and Employment Law. She began her private practice at Baker & Botts in Houston, Texas, specializing in General Corporate Counseling, M&A, and Compliance and Securities work. Nancy worked with public and private companies of all sizes across a broad spectrum of industries, ranging from large transnational oil and gas conglomerates to national telecommunications and consumer goods corporations to local universities, hospitals, and manufacturing businesses. Nancy provided general corporate guidance to companies at all phases in their development; advised clients on employment, real estate, financing, and other critical business matters; and worked on complex transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, initial public offerings, and public and private debt placement.
After moving back to the Northeast, Nancy joined a boutique law firm specializing in Employment and Business Law. In addition to continuing her work in the M&A field and advising companies on general corporate and contracting matters, Nancy expanded her practice into the litigation arena. Nancy successfully represented both employers and employees in complex single-employee and class-action employment disputes, providing her with in-depth firsthand knowledge of factors that expose companies to litigation risk. Nancy now utilizes the valuable insight she gained to advise her corporate clients on best practices to minimize risks in both operating and growing their businesses.
After law school, Nancy spent several years honing her legal skills as a law clerk at the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island, first for Chief Judge Ronald Lagueux and later for Senior Magistrate Judge Jacob Hagopian. More recently, in January 2024, Nancy was selected by the Honorable Chief Judge John J. McConnell to serve on the Court Advisory Council for the same court where she had clerked after law school.
Nancy earned her J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School. While at Harvard, Nancy was an executive editor of the International Law Journal and spent her summers working for Kirkland & Ellis in Washington, D.C. and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman in San Francisco. Prior to law school, Nancy earned her B.A from Yale University, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and graduated summa cum laude, with distinction in her major (Economics).
