Neil McLaughlin

Founder and Head of M&A Practice

Neil McLaughlin has practiced for more than 30 years including many years at leading national law firms, including Kirkland & Ellis, Proskauer Rose, and Goodwin Procter (where he was a partner in the Corporate Department).

Neil’s practice is focused on complex corporate and business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions, equity and debt financings, joint ventures, and other business arrangements.  Neil has had a leadership role in over $5 billion in M&A deals across a broad range of industries.  In recent years, much of Neil’s practice has been in the consumer goods and services, industrial tech, and IT and SaaS industries.  On behalf of private equity investors and operating companies, he has led deal teams on investments, recapitalizations, acquisitions and divestitures. He has also worked on many private placements of equity securities from “friends and family” rounds through venture capital and private equity financing.  Neil has worked on capital-raising efforts for start-ups and early-stage companies in the consumer experience, consumer products, controlled environment agriculture, and carbon mitigation industries.  He pursues a practical approach to transaction issues.

Neil earned his law degree from Boston University School of Law (cum laude), his MSPA from the University of Massachusetts – Boston, and his undergraduate degree from Connecticut College.
