Scott is a corporate, M&A, and financing lawyer with three decades of experience in strategic growth and disposition transactions. Scott enjoys aiding businesses and their owners as they grow their footprints, deploy existing technologies to new uses, increase their technological capabilities, enter new markets, and grow both organically and through acquisitions and strategic investments.

Scott has aided businesses in a variety of industries including medical devices, rapid diagnostics, and development stage pharmaceuticals, as well as other sophisticated manufacturing businesses. He has helped medical device businesses complete more than $5 billion in transactions across multiple geographies. He has also represented hospitality and other multi-unit real estate service businesses in more than $5 billion of transactions in the United States. Scott has also helped founders and entrepreneurs sell their businesses in competitive sale processes.

Scott has considerable experience developing practical solutions to business, transactional, geographic, personnel, and regulatory hurdles that businesses encounter whether in their day-to-day activities or in connection with an acquisition, investment, or divestiture.

Scott was previously an equity partner at Goodwin Procter and then served as General Counsel of The Fresh Market, Inc., which went public in 2010 and was acquired by Apollo Global Management in 2016. While with The Fresh Market, Scott took on many roles in addition to his General Counsel position, serving at various times as Head of Human Resources and Head of Real Estate, building and helping to execute a store rationalization program. Scott also served as General Counsel of Carter’s, Inc., an NYSE-listed children’s apparel company, and before practicing law was a CPA.
