Doug has over 20 years of global general counsel experience leading legal affairs, corporate development and commercial transactions at private and public companies, with extensive experience at Fish & Richardson, FTP Software, Interactive Data Corp, LoJack Corp., Mercury Computer Systems, and Raytheon. Additionally, Doug has successfully served in various operating roles such as President at Deque Systems and Chief Commercial Officer at Veritas Genetics. Doug has served on various Boards of Directors. He is a tech savvy, business savvy lawyer who is responsive and will attain relationship building outcomes with your counterparty while also effectively managing key risks and recommending actions to accelerate revenue and strategic goals systemically. Doug’s experience ranges from enterprise software to biotech and other vertical markets.

Doug’s commercial transaction practice focuses on accelerating growth of both software and biotech businesses. He has broad experience with a broad range of commercial agreement drafting and negotiation including SaaS software and professional services, distribution and other channel agreements as well as complex technology transactions.

Doug also advises on all phases of M&A, joint venture and fundraising, leveraging experience leading over 50 significant transactions.

He received his Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law earning the Book Award in Professional Ethics and after graduation he taught legal writing there for a number of years. Prior to law school, Doug earned a M.A in Mathematics at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and a B.S in Honors Mathematics at Purdue University. Doug authored a book on software licensing published by the American Intellectual Property Lawyers Association.
