Mike is a founding partner of Blais, Halpert & Lieberman, a transactional tax boutique. He has practiced tax law for nearly 40 years in Boston and New York City, most recently as the Chair of the Tax Section at Mintz Levin. He regularly advises public and private companies, private equity and hedge fund sponsors and investors, and highly compensated executives in mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, fund formations and secondary market sales of fund interests, cross-border transactions, and compensation matters. He also assists financially-troubled companies and their creditors in navigating the complex tax implications of debt restructurings and workouts, in and out of bankruptcy. Mike has a B.S. and J.D. from Harvard University and an LL.M. in Tax from New York University.
